Artifact Ped-10

This artifact is an example of a teaching strategy I used in lieu of having an open class discussion in order to engage more students in class. My notes for implementing the strategy as well as photos from the strategy are included in this artifact.

This artifact supports the indicator Differentiated Instruction and Assessment (3) builds in opportunities for each student to contribute during each class period.

Review Investigation and Analysis Questions

Trying something new this year in 2020 because 2019 was too boring (just going over the questions and calling on people–don’t do that again!).

Idea from Alicia:

  • Put each question on a piece of 11×17 paper on a table (could also use butcher paper).
  • Give students 10 minutes to go around the room to three of the questions where they feel that have good answers.
  • [Note which ones don’t have anyone going to them and do them out loud later on].
  • Then give students 10 minutes to go around the room to three of the questions where they feel they don’t have good answers. Have them make corrections.
  • Go over all the ones that people had trouble with–possibly have students discuss if necessary.
  • Have students resubmit with corrections.”
