This artifact contains two photos. The first is a photo of a video I showed in class with the subtitles turned on. In January 2020 I showed the NOVA documentary “Making Stuff Stronger.” Among three class periods, one student asked if I could turn on the subtitles (shown in Photo 1) and two students asked if they could write the answers to the assignment associated with the documentary on paper instead of on the computer. I accommodated all their requests. In February 2020 during student presentations, two students asked if they could take notes on their computers rather than on paper and I also accommodated their requests (shown in Photo 2).
This artifact supports the indicator Differentiated Instruction and Assessment (2) designs class activities and assignments that engage and accommodate for both individual students and a diverse group of learners.
